Congressman Lee Terry visited “The Egg & I” in Papillion to a packed meeting room with many in attendance stating that the choice of location at the new Papillion restaurant was a draw for them. He discussed the Omnibus bill, sequestration, veteran benefits and education.
The subject of Common Core was brought up. Common Core seeks to unify content and curriculum throughout the states. Those opposed say it lowers standards, prevents the states from fully exercising their state rights with respect to education and that Common Core implements a political agenda.
Congressman Terry said that he believed that the school board would be voting in favor of adopting Common Core soon.
